Redwood Cottage

Shanti's Redwood Cottage is filled with peace, quiet and calm nestled in the Redwoods of Occidental. This well-apportioned cottage is a magical place for a family or couple to stay -- you’ll have both abundant natural beauty and cozy privacy. Shanti is also very dog friendly with a large, private fenced in back yard to sequester your pooch. Soak away your aches and pains in the giant seven person hot tub. Help us feed Cosmo the llama, our Blackbelly sheep, chickens and ducks. Lots of sun & stars here! For a nominal charge, ask our chefs to prepare you a delicious Farm to Table meal with ingredients from the farm. Or for a treat, just drive two miles into the town of Occidental, where you can feast at one of the six excellent restaurants in town and enjoy a microbrew in the local pub. Shanti is situated directly on Coleman Valley Road, with the accolade of "The Most Beautiful Road in Sonoma County." Conveniently located only three miles away from The Grove of the Old Trees, three miles from hiking and mountain biking trails at Willow Creek Nature Preserve and a stunning eight mile drive to dozens of uninhabited Pacific Coast beaches. Forest Yurt

$99 - $225 per night

Glamping at its finest! Isolated on a hilltop overlooking the bucolic Coleman Valley, this secluded 24 foot diameter Pacific Yurt is situated within a Redwood Forest with access to a pond with singing frogs. Enjoy our outdoor communal hot shower in a tree along with a simple compost toilet. Then slip inside to relax in your comfy round king-sized bed. If more than two want to stay in the yurt, there is an additional queen-sized Lazy-Boy fold out couch with air mattress. Lots of extra room inside to do yoga or sleep kids on the floor. When you are hungry, just drive the two short miles into the town of Occidental, where you can feast at one of five excellent restaurants in town and enjoy a microbrew in the local pub. Shanti also provides a communal campfire with a grill for your steaks and veggies. Please no food particles down our sensitive indoor sink! A three burner propane camp stove is communally available for your use as well - bring your own pots, pans and utensils for the stove or campfire. Or for a nominal charge, ask our chefs to include you in a delicious Farm to Table meal. The Enchanted Forest Yurt is two miles away from "The Grove of the Old Redwood Trees," three miles away from trails at Willow Creek Nature Preserve and eight miles to awesome beaches down Coleman Valley Road, considered "The Most Beautiful Road in Sonoma County." The land has a naturally peaceful and relaxing, chill vibe. You are welcome here.

Pond Campsite

The Pond Campsite is Shanti’s largest campsite with a two to six person capacity in two man tents, or a four person capacity in one large tent. You will have a picnic table, two Adirondack chairs and a side table for your exclusive use. Water is available but it's convenient to bring some for your first night. Shanti’s 100-foot long rain-fed pond is swimmable in the spring and early summer. It can dry up in the late summer, depending upon California’s drought and global warming. The Pond campsite is within the free range area of Shanti’s peaceful sheep and guardian llama named Cosmo, so please make sure your dogs stay on a leash or are always willing to come when called. All guests are welcome to the communal campfire, shower in a tree, and compost toilet near the yurt!

Cosmo Campsite

The Cosmo Campsite is Shanti’s second largest campsite, with a capacity for two two-man tents or one larger tent. It is nestled within towering Redwoods and overlooks the bucolic Coleman Valley. This is the best campsite for watching sunsets. There is access to a communal compost toilet and outdoor shower either uphill near the yurt or downhill by the main house. You will have your own double person hammock with a view upwards through Redwood boughs. Shanti also supplies a redwood picnic table for outdoor eating under the sky. The campsite is easily accessible for loading and unloading within a 50 foot walk from Shanti’s gravel road. Feel free to join the communal campfire near the yurt, which closes down by 10 PM.
