About the event

Learn Permaculture Farming with Shanti's weekend classes twice a month from Friday evening through Sunday early afternoon, with a personal break all afternoon Saturday. A vegetarian meal will be served Saturday & evenings spent by the campfire.

Classes  will be held every other weekend from May through the end of October,  weather permitting. You will learn about farming from Elizabeth  Medgyesy, founder of Shanti Permaculture Farm, who in ten years has  brought her land from void of food production to the flourishing farm that it is today. Families and pets welcome!

Hands-on classes will be held on topics such as:

What is Permaculture? 

Care of Livestock: chickens/ducks/geese, sheep and llamas

Soil Nourishment; How to Grow Vegetables, Berries and Fruits

Importance of Homesteading in a world of increasing climate change

Water and Energy Conservation,  techniques that you can implement right now 

Responsible Recycling and  Composting Techniques, living responsibly

    Permaculture farming: how to raise vegetables, berries and fruits; planting seeds and vegetable starts, soil nourishment: learning about maintaining healthy soil through composting and biochar, choosing drought tolerant, perennial, edible plants versus water-intensive, annual ornamental plants, and observing water conservation techniques.
